SIXX:A.M.'s DJ ASHBA Doesn't Understand Internet Haters

May 22, 2016

Kaytie of the 97.7 WQLZ radio station in Springfield, Illinois conducted an interview with former GUNS N' ROSES and current SIXX:A.M. guitarist DJ Ashba at this year's Rock On The Range festival, which is being held May 20-22 in Columbus, Ohio. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On all the negativity on social media:

Ashba: "A lot of people are grumpy out there, huh? A lot of pissed off people hiding behind screen names. But it takes a much bigger person to say something nice… or don't say something at all. Like, who cares? I don't know… I don't have that kind of time in life. I don't understand that. To go on somebody's page and shit-talk 'em when you don't know them, that's… Your time is valuable. Why are you wasting your valuable time…? If you don't like 'em, then… It's weird to me. So I don't know."

On Internet drama between musicians, such as the recent war of words between Nikki Sixx (MÖTLEY CRÜE and SIXX:A.M. bassist) and Paul Stanley (KISS):

Ashba: "It's all stupid. I don't get involved in drama shit. I literally just kind of stay away from all that stuff. I've always hated drama. Life's full of that crap. So my thing is I wanna spread positive. I know it's probably not the rock-star thing to do, but I wanna spread hope, I wanna spread cheer. There's enough hate out there."

The first volume of "Prayers For The Damned", the new double album from SIXX:A.M., was released on April 29 via Eleven Seven Music.
